Besides the meta no_index
PAUSE skips anything in t/ and inc/:
I think xt/ would be something to skip as well.
This test file is listed as documentation for the string of pod contained inside it:
https://api.metacpan.org/file/MARCEL/Pod-Markdown-1.110730/t/misc.t has indexed: false, the indexer already sets the indexed: false property on files in t/ xt/ inc/ blib/ etc.
What are you referring to exactly?
Sorry, guess i forgot to mention the important part (what i was looking at on metacpan)...
now i can't remember :-/
On this page it says "documentation" for that file: https://metacpan.org/source/MARCEL/Pod-Markdown-1.110730/t
The "documentation" link on the release page points to the bin/ script though, so that part seems ok:
Maybe the "documentation" thing in the "browse" view confused me....
maybe it was late...
so we can close this? :)
we have to consider POD after DATA, there are a number of legit modules out there that put there pod in the DATA section (and sco supports this as well). Whoever browses the t/ directory probably knows that documentation in there is not indexed, i.e. not searchable. However, the Moose distribution has some good documentation in some tests where showing the NAME of the documentation actually makes sense.
