its looks very odd when legs or dead npcs integrates with terrain

Yes, I think it must be filtered by excluding dynamic objects from soft blending. Brush or static entities only. And some vegetations like trees offcourse. Grass also can be blended maybe but very carefully (maybe within individual blending settings for different vegetations/objects).
