New Dashboard: Covid.bio #195

Great! quick comment: please add the option of a log-y scale. straight line on log-y scale = exponential growth, i.e. no containment downward-bending curve (even with positive slope) on log-y scale = slowing infection rate. (roughly....) It just makes it much easier to understand whats going on, otherwise all lines will look like hockey-sticks! Very nice UI!! Thanks P.S. you might even consider showing the value of the regression on the log-values, makes it interesting to compare countries. or maybe even possible to show multiple countries at the same time |
@zahachtah I absolutely plan on having a log scale and adding it soon. |
Great! I was really lacking for the Hopkins-dashboard to see per country graphs. If one could compare countries that would be awesome. |
I like you sleek design. Would you share the source code? |
https://themeforest.net/item/dashforge-responsive-admin-dashboard-template/23725961 ;-) |

Added log scale, daily change chart, regional data on country pages, and an updated timestamp. Enjoy! |
@zahachtah I have tried some regression and while they match well on some data, they match terribly on most. I'll add them later if need be. Added log scales today. |
I love this dashboard? How frequently will it be updated? |
@lancescadden It's updated as often as the time series here is. |
"countries" should be either "country's" or "countries'". The former is likely more appropriate. In the context of "track your country's progress". |
@2fst4u Haha, good find. Thanks! |
Not sure if its too complicated, but one very useful graph I've seen is the one where all countries are put os the same timescale by setting zero-x when the country crossed 100 cases. It highlights differences in strategies. The trouble is though that it can't separate reporting with containment strategies.... |
@zahachtah I love that dashboard too but it'd honestly be too busy now. We'd have to go with over 1,000. |
What's the deal with the data now? The site has been down for ages. |
@2fst4u This dataset seems like it is put together by a twelve year old who knows nothing about data analysis and consistency for machine readable data sets. The repo keeps fucking up so the site can't properly display data. |
Is this the case for basically every site that uses the data now? |
@2fst4u I can't speak for other websites. I wrote mine and I know how all the sorting and such works. Every time the data has broken, I've tried to fix it but it breaks in so many unique ways it's just impossible to keep up. |
Nice and clean UI! I need to check that out. I have done one also as I was interested in seeing the cumulative number of cases for each country over time, as well as new cases emerging by day and a country comparative growth. https://virus-corona.herokuapp.com Would love your feedback. |
Very interesting - is there a way to add any other country of interest to your post 50 cases graph? |
@loulouOz Looks good! Keep up the great work! |
I wanted to let you all know I created a dashboard with this data at https://covid.bio
Would love to hear thoughts and feedback.
