This release dramatically improves the responsiveness of Filmulator to slider movements by making it render a small-size image before completing a full-size image.
The size of the preview can be configured in the Settings tab, and the functionality can be turned off if desired.
This new update to Filmulator includes one major feature: cropping.
When an image has finished rendering, click the crop button to begin cropping. You can adjust the crop by dragging the handles just outside of the current crop, which will show up in blue for side handles and purple for corner handles.
Minor other changes:
- Error handling was added for the case where Filmulator cannot create a directory for the database, causing the program to exit instead of polluting your home directory.
- Metadata writing to TIFFs has been temporarily disabled; the thumbnail was appearing as a second layer and this confused GIMP when trying to import them.
This release should fix a bug that occurs only on the first run of Filmulator, in which in the Filmulate tab, images cannot be successfully selected for editing.
Filmulator's first binary release, in the form of an AppImage.
- The application icon doesn't seem to show up everywhere.
- The file picker may not be the native system file picker.
