IE seems to drop the first style definition (so style="background:red" won't display the color but style="some_css_property:value; background:red" will do).

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on here :|

hi @voltagex could you let me know how do yo create the legend? Is it a custom one made using HTML code? If so could you attach the exact code?

Thanks.

Hi @voltagex
could you let me know the kind of legend you apply to the maps? Are they custom maps using HTML template? If so could you attach the exact code?

Thanks.

That example is not mine. If you go into the UI, create any map with multiple colours and use the share link in IE11 you should see it.

After many tries I finally reproduce the problem. It happens when you create a category legend through the wizard and later go to the legend HTML editor and use it as the legend code.

This is the code generated for an IE working legend:
works_ie

Next, is a non IE working code generated after going to the HTML legend editor:
fails_ie

To be weirdest it only happens on IE both on cartodb editor and embedded map, not if you load the visjson with cartodb.js.

The issue is really weird. It happens on the editor and the public map, but it doesn't happens (it works on IE too) if your visualize the vizjson with cartodb.js.

It's broken for me with an older version of cartodb.js (3.14.5)

@acanimal could the editor/public map be using an older version of cartodb.js?

This happens with every legend style in the wizard. You just need to go to Custom style side and press apply. Even if you don't change anything. It doesn't matter do you make a map with Chrome, FF or IE11. After pressed apply in custom legend colors are gone in IE11 legend.

Hope you find solution or workaround.

Looks like the styles aren't applied to the bullets. The legend comes across as a custom template with each bullet having a style="...", but in IE10+ that attribute is missing. So it must be somewhere in the legend rendering or sanitization of the template.

Seeing some weird behavior. At one point I thought the issue was fixed: https://stocktonca.beta.mapgeo.io/?latlng=37.973764%2C-121.388449&panel=themes&themes=%5B%22zoning%22%5D&zoom=11

hence it working here, but when I deployed to production (the only difference is minified assets) here: https://stocktonca.mapgeo.io/?latlng=37.973764%2C-121.388449&panel=themes&themes=%5B%22zoning%22%5D&zoom=11 it no longer works (minified assets are impossible to debug in IE..).

FYI the above related issue's fix did not fix this issue. So I don't think it's related.

I think I've fixed this in my map by adding a fake style to each .bullet div: so something like <div class="bullet" style="color: black; background:red"></div> in the custom HTML.

As @javierarce suggests IE seems to drop the first style definition, but keep the second. Strange!
