Part way through development we started to implement a looping hum sound for supply capsules that got louder as the player got closer and indicated position via left and right channels. Unfortunately to control looping samples in allegro, a mixer must be implemented, and when this was done, it caused problems with other in-game sounds that weren't being run through the mixer.

Our expectation is that to implement this, we would need a complete overhaul of the audio system to run every sound through a single sample mixer.
