One weapon that missed out on the rebalance of medieval weaponry, despite an effective damage-per-turn of 18.878.
Also of note but not really useful, an ahlspiess (translated as awl pike) tended to be closer to mundane spears in (overall) length and weight, though the spike tended to be longer than a spearhead.
One other thing, I'm not sure how we should factor the utility of a reach attack into game balance for this.
