So what does alpha mutagen do, exactly? Is it like a less risky mutagen or does it have the effects of a bunch of mutagen types together?

Glad you asked!

PE050, or "Alpha mutagen", is a stable mutagen cocktail designed to enhance human capacities whilst minimizing radical alterations or otherwise impinging on one's basic "humanity", whatever that is. It's the next step in human evolution and had XE037 not breached containment, would likely have been supplied to military and high-level civilian personnel.

Or...it's a category-mutagen that can give stat-ups, Robust Genetics, and Pretty, with only Fast Metabolism, Weakening, and Nausea as potential negative mutations. Try it--you'll like it!

That said, you'd need to find the recipe, have Cooking 9 or so to actually learn it, level up to Cooking 10 in order to cook it, and then get three flavored mutagens and three Purifiers together--in order to make one dose.

It's not powerful enough to be an iWin--I think--but I made the recipe a PitA to actually find, just in case. 2 spawn chance in goo-room fridges and on SciCorpses. The mutagen itself does NOT spawn in this PR.

The statups are ST2 DX IN PE2. Nothing particularly thrilling; could probably justify knocking the ST and PE down. The idea is that this is a stable, negligible-downside mutagen.
