I hear they're getting the Construction JSON ready to support rock-removal. You might consider making a Better Pickaxe (there was one commented out a long time ago, haven't looked recently)...

You'll probably want to remove the construction.cpp bits from this, as it's changed dramatically (see data/json/construction.json instead)
