Added link to : http://cdda.estilofusion.com/ in the ingame crafting documentation. Spoke to Sheco (the creator of that site) recently. It is being actively managed.

You mean it'll be accessible in-game? Click and open?

Nope you will have to enter in a browser.

Since we already have component and tool searching ingame, does that not obsolete all those 3rd party recipe browsers? This would only be useful as a reference for recipes, for which one does not have the skills/book yet.

It also provides deconstruction recipies. Which are missing ingame.

I'd love something that shows usage "recipes", like the skewer, rag and plastic chunk. I don't need it anymore, but when I first started out, I had no idea where to get skewers. Luckily, the wiki had the answer already.

Sadlu that information is a bit harder to get out of the json files. No idea if the wiki is already in the documentation. Probably needs some updating.

And just for the record, do we have reliable means of contacting xem? I'm sure Sheco's reliable, but if we link to 'em in-game, someone browses the link, and then gets a virus or something, we need to be able to get it cleared up ASAP.

My email is readily available on the crafting browser's home, sduran@estilofusion.com (it's a google apps domain, so I'm always available via hangouts)

I'm working on cleaning the code and making it available, so you guys can upload it to some other site, if you want to.

But still, maybe a better idea should be to include a link to the wiki's crafting page or some other "resource hub", to avoid hardcoding the uri in the source code.

Then, if something were to happen to my site, the wiki can be edited.

I do appreciate the thought, thank you.

@BollandP I also thought the recipe search in game would obsolete this, but I've found this is useful for sharing the information online, the URIs are friendly enough to acomplish that.

Yeah. If the URL isn't on the wiki's crafting page, by all means put it there and mention the wiki in-code, but once your URL ships as part of the game, that's a serious commitment IMO.

Both you and we should think about that before merging this. Sorry to be the buzzkill here.

@BollandP how does this look?

http://cdda.estilofusion.com/skewer
http://cdda.estilofusion.com/stick
http://cdda.estilofusion.com/sheet
http://cdda.estilofusion.com/rag

Works for leather, nomex, plastic, wood, kevlar and cotton.

Additionally you can now search by materials.

Cool, I'm sure it'll help people cut the items when they need them.
Maybe add an image of a gruff dwarf banging his hammer on an anvil for that special crafty flavor and I'll be satisfied. ^.^

So consensus is put a link on the wiki, closing.

There already were links on the wiki. But personally I think it could use a bit more attention.

Would a good compromise be to put a link on the main site? Perhaps here: http://en.cataclysmdda.com/pages/16/display (the title of the page should be changed to "modding, tools, and guides" not "modding tools and guides".

A link from the website wouldn't be amiss, but needs gg to either do it or
tell me how, I can't figure out the website layout.
