I need to coordinate with the translation group on launchpad and make sure
this won't overwrite any efforts to translate 0.A. for anyone who knows,
will pushing a new .pot after a tag make a new translation series
automatically, or does that require manual intervention?

As i know launchpad folks working on 0.A.(i hope i am wrong and they working on master). But we have 0.A branch too, not tag only. Launchpad should automatically get updates only from branch's not tags. Launchpad behavior is extremely unpredictable. No such a problems in transifex.com(Russian only).

Note: The branch which is called “trunk” in Launchpad actually contains the strings for 0.A. It would make more sense to rename this branch to 0.A. This branch should not change at all afterwards. After that, a new branch, called “trunk” can be created, and this branch can be updated automatically. After this change, an announcement should be made.

But of course only if we translators really want to continiue using Launchpad. (I am not sure on that anymore …)
