Look! A ridiculously simple mod to bowdlerize text-based items of a
sexual nature!

Only stuff that's exclusively sexual in nature (even if the vibrator
is really vague about what exactly you do with it) so the bondage
and costume stuff isn't in here because sometimes that stuff is just
for fashion.

Since all this stuff is so terribly controversial I figure the best way to handle it is to go with a very specific mod or set of mods in order to keep them classified and maintain some objectivity. This is the only one that seems particularly straightforward so here goes nothing.

If it's a joke, haha close.
If not, wut? close.

No it's serious. I'm tired of the complaints and this is super specific. I'm still against it all, but this (hopefully) avoids the bickering over trivialities via simplicity while still attempting to shut up the 'no sex' crowd.

You're right, on further consideration let them complain or make their own blacklist.

My official stance is "make your own blacklist, or distribute one on forums or similar". Any further blacklists will need a sensical game-altering rationale, such as trimming down items to ones that would exist in a particular scenario, such as modern-day, or even some point in the past or in an alternate history. But meta-rationales like "I don't like this item" aren't going to fly.

I am all for small, clearly named blacklists with specific scope. Some people will no doubt find it useful. Better than one list to ban it all, where no one will use it, because it blacklists also items he does not have gripe with.

I also think that some brand blacklist, where someone make a compilation of what he does not like, can find following, but these are better as stand-alone mods, where you have to dl them.

Personally, I would use a no-cannibal food mod, for example. It clutters the crafting UI with duplicates, where only difference is type of meat.

Small blacklists are IMHO a good idea, and this one was small and simple. Why did you close it, @rivet?

I still don't like the idea of bowdlerizing the game. I PR'ed this initially to satisfy the people who get freaked out over stuff like this in the game, but then I remembered that I don't have to go out of my way to make them happy.

Why hasn't anyone thought of the idea of making a customizable blacklist? A
mod can be selected that is just "Custom Blacklist", and then the player
can choose to block items from a menu (similar to the wish for an item
debug menu, though maybe split up into categories of items or something). I
don't know how this would be done... just a possible suggestion. I feel
like this is the most effective solution, however that may just be me.

Otherwise I feel like there will just be tons of blacklist mods created...
no drugs, no sexual items, no unrealistic items, no religious items, no
clothing items, no battery powered items, no UPS items, etc.

Again, this is just a potential idea that someone in the community might be
interested in creating sometime in the future.

That's exactly the point, even among the people who want a blacklist, there
is no agreement about what should be on it, so people should just make
their own. Look at the diff, it's super simple.

A custom blacklist screen sounds like a good idea.
