So, the door merchant is about to get his bartering skill artificially buffed so that he pays roughly 40-60% of what he would normally pay for an item... on top of that the total amount of cash he starts with will be nerfed. It is a bit too easy to drop a single awesome item you are never going to use and in return clean house in the shop. To have a steady income, the Refugee Center is always willing to pay face value for the renewable nonperishable food stuffs. The broker is in the back office room and will tell you want he is looking to buy but you won't have the option to deliver it unless you have it on you. The idea is to encourage/make viable an industrious farming/fishing/harvest moon occupation.

Need some suggestions, what are the main nonperishable staples he should be asking to buy? I'll probably be adding:
-beer, you can grow hops and stuff I think?
-sugar, can you actually find sugar beet seeds?
-flour

Beans flour and rice are pretty staple foods given to refugees/the poor broker could ask for those. But I don't know if you can grow rice and beans.

Ya, they would be cool but it would be of limited use since, like you said, I don't think you can grow either.

Oh, I didn't notice that you could actually make a charcoal kiln... so smoked meat/fish will be in since you would have a renewable supply there. The prices are still crazy but that will eventually be sorted out since it pulls from the json.

Cooking oil, corn, wheat, (maybe cotton, though it's not strictly food) all preserved foods like dried vegetables and jerky - though they likely wouldn't want preserved human flesh.

Wow, trading price code needs a rework. I'm not up for it at the moment but if anyone else wants to take a shot... at bartering level 4 you can literally sell items, re-buy, and sell again for a profit at the window merchant. Even lower for the other npcs...

Well, it does advertise as getting you freebies. Agreed that such should be closer to 8-10, not 4, however.

Careful. If the function includes a variable, you have to find a home for it somewhere, or we don't compile it. I'll see if I can find a call for p here.
