Was thinking about the local pods behavior and while I do like it, it leaves some things to be desired. Not sure how difficult this would be, but I was thinking rather than making local pods symlinked into the pods project, actually import the local pods project into workspace.

This way you'd have easy access to full add/remove resources, the local pod would be organized as it originally was in the source project, and you'd have full access to adjust project settings as necessary in the local pod as necessary.

You should be able to add the project to the workspace yourself. Please try if everything works as expected and let us know.

I don’t think the extra code needed for this feature outweighs the ease of adding the project yourself, when you want that.

It could be useful in certain cases as the project might have other CocoaPods dependencies.

However I agree with the ideas that the complexity outweighs the benefits. Basically this setup would require to support a dual implementation one for the podspecs and one for the project (with some gray points whose solution it is not clear to me at a first glance, related on how to mix the build settings from the project and from the podspec).

Taking into account the above and the fact that there are a lot of more urgent issues, to focus I'm closing this one at least for the moment. Thanks for sharing an interesting idea though!
