offline-api

This is a tiny Rails API configured for use with clients that support offline work. It's inspired by peeps-uuids. For its primary keys it uses UUIDs instead of the default auto-incrementing integers. This allows multiple clients to create records while offline and sync them up later, without risk of ID collissions.

Prerequisites

  • Ruby 2.5.1
  • Postgres 9.6 or above

Installation and Setup

  • git clone git@github.com:CodingItWrong/offline-api.git
  • cd offline-api
  • bundle install
  • bin/rails db:create
  • bin/rails db:migrate

Running / Development

  • bin/rails server
