Actual Behavior

I had missing conda.exe in Continuum\anaconda3\Scripts folder, so conda command doesn't work. This is not PATH problem. After that I have uninstalled anaconda, rebooted and installed just downloaded last version of anaconda. Installation was without admin rights. After that I still have conda missing in that folder. So conda command doesn't work

What can I do? Is where a way to install conda eventually?

Expected Behavior

Running conda command

Steps to Reproduce

Install anaconda with admin right. After that install without admin rights. Get missing conda.exe

PS I have previously installed Anaconda. Which I believe was installed with admin rights to whole users. Can it cause such problem?

Anaconda or Miniconda version: 5.01
Operating System: Windows 10
conda info

no conda

There have been multiple reports of incomplete Windows Anaconda installations with Anaconda v5.0.1. We have a current workaround that you could try to see if this resolves your problem: https://docs.anaconda.com/anaconda/user-guide/troubleshooting#cannot-open-anaconda-prompt-after-installation

I dont have PATH problems, so the problem persist. Should I try to install miniconda instead?

I did a update with:
C:\ conda update conda
After that, conda.exe disappeared from the Scrips folder. It is not a PATH problem.

So the solution is to uninstall anaconda, install miniconda, and then install numpy, etc. etc?

Still having this issue with version 5.2.0 on Windows 10 64bit.

It does not seem to be happening on every computer and I can not think of any difference between the computers. I am installing on many different computers with the same install script and installer exe

I have this problem on at least two computers in the classrom. Not a PATH problem - adding correct path does not help, conda.exe is missing.

activate.bat is also missing, the only file is activate.bat.c~.

BTW - updating to newest anaconda solves the problem obviously.

Ah, that is possible. I used Anaconda3-2018.12-Windows-x86_64.exe and it did not work. I wanted to switch to Miniconda anyhow and Miniconda works perfectly.

Yeah same issue here as well. Tried setting environment variable too. Its neither recognising conda nor its able to find the path using "where conda".

I found the solution by installing an older version of Anaconda. They have screwd up with something in the latest one.

My workaround was to install miniconda instead of anaconda.
