DMD Diamond is a fair-launched, truly decentralized Layer 1 blockchain, built by a dedicated community — without a company, premine, or ICO. Established in 2013, it has continuously evolved to prioritize security, efficiency, and decentralization.
2025: The Next Evolution of DMD Diamond 🚀
After several years of active development, the DMD Diamond blockchain launched its v4 mainnet on October 13th, 2025. This is a defining achievement that marks the beginning of a new era for DMD Diamond's ecosystem. With the DMDv4 mainnet launch, the DMD Diamond blockchain is the world's first layer-1, EVM-compliant blockchain to successfully implement the HBBFT algorithm, supplemented with POSDAO validator election mechanics.
DMD Diamond v4 Lightpaper for Developers
Most important Key Feature:
✔ Layer 1 MEV and frontrunning prevention
Utilizing cooperative HBBFT-driven block creation, this stands as the network's most unique and powerful capability. While transactions are visible in the mempool, node contributions to the collaboratively created block are threshold-encrypted until a consensus threshold of contributions is reached. Once the threshold is met and the content is decrypted, all nodes strictly follow the same ruleset. A built-in random number generator determines the final transaction order—a unique DMD Diamond improvement known as random transaction shuffling. Because all nodes must mathematically construct and sign the exact same block, no single node can add, remove, or reorder transactions to their advantage, completely eliminating frontrunning at the protocol level.
Additional Key Features:
✔ EVM Compatibility – Seamlessly deploy Ethereum-based smart contracts
✔ Fast & Low-Cost Transactions – Optimized for speed and efficiency
✔ Dynamic Blocktime & Instant Finality – No waiting, no rollbacks
✔ Fully Decentralized & DAO-Governed – A blockchain owned by its community
✔ Enhanced Security & Censorship Resistance – Built for the future
✔ Improved Randomness & Front-Running Prevention – Fairer for all users
As a true blockchain purist, DMD Diamond's core values include complete decentralization. DMD Diamond is a community-driven project with no corporations behind us.
We aim to contribute to the blockchain industry by creating open-source protocols, utilities, and services. By ensuring blockchain interoperability, we aim to increase the viability of the entire crypto universe.
Our ultimate goal is to empower all users with financial freedom and independence by creating a platform that provides a secure, accessible, and profitable smart contract-based blockchain economy.
DMD Diamond appeared back in 2013, when one of the first booms of coins, the main ones on Bitcoin forks, happened.
However, a few months after the project was launched, the original creator of DMD disappeared. The community was unhappy with the sudden departure of the developer, who left unresolved problems.
The fate of the project was in the hands of the community — a small team of developers and enthusiasts gathered together to maintain and develop the code and adjust the vision of the coin.
Unlike most projects that ended with the departure of the founders and the team, DMD Diamond was able not only to survive, but also to introduce a number of new developments thanks to the cohesion of the community.
DMD coin is one of the oldest in the blockchain space. In addition, it has important features that make our coin stand out from the crowd:
- DMD retains its original coin emission model with a fixed mintage
- Our coin is five times more scarce than Bitcoin, with a limited supply of only 4.38 million coins.
- Additionally, DMD is one of a very small number of coins that have survived from its inception in 2013 to the present day and are still actively supported and traded
Compliance Memorandum: MiCA Applicability Assessment
Subject: Assessment of MiCA Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 Applicability to the DMD Project and DMD Diamond Association
Date: November 26, 2025
Based on the nature of the underlying protocol and the limited function of the DMD Diamond Association, the DMD project and its related activities do not fall within the scope of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation for the following principal reasons:
- Decentralised Provenance & Distribution: Core operations and distribution are conducted in a fully decentralised manner on-chain, negating the existence of an identifiable issuer or offeror of crypto-assets.
- Historical Continuity: Balances used in v4 derive from a strict 1:1 airdrop representing balances generated via decentralised mechanisms in v1, v2, and v3.
- No Allocation: No extra coins were generated, minted, or allocated during the v4 launch; the supply strictly mirrors the historically decentralised distribution.
- Immediate DAO Handover: At chain launch, all core logic and administrative controls were irrevocably transferred to DAO ownership, removing developer influence over the network.
- Non-CASP Status: The DMD Diamond Association does not perform activities qualifying it as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under MiCA.
The DMD project is designed to operate without intermediary control or direction from a centralised entity, aligning with the exemption criteria for fully decentralised protocols (see MiCA Recital (22)).
- On-Chain Operation: Distribution and core protocol operations run exclusively on-chain and are executed by immutable smart contracts.
- Restricted Team Access (“1 DMD” limit): To demonstrate the absence of central control, only 1 DMD was retained by the team to seed a faucet for initial gas to enable user claims. All other coins are outside the team’s control, managed strictly by whitepaper-defined rules and DAO-owned smart-contract code.
- Absence of Counterparty: No legal entity acts as a counterparty to any user, including with respect to any EU public offer or request for EU admission to trading.
- Decentralised Service Provision: The protocol provides services in a fully decentralised manner, independent of any central governance or administrative body.
The DMD Diamond Association is a separate non-profit whose function is strictly limited to non-regulated support activities. It explicitly avoids engaging in activities that would classify it as an issuer, offeror, or CASP under MiCA.
- Administrative Role: Serves only as a communications and coordination body and the primary contact for regulatory inquiries. This role is administrative and does not constitute a regulated service under MiCA.
- Exclusion from Regulated Activities: The Association does not operate crypto-asset sales, custody, exchange, advice, or other specified CASP activities. The protocol is decentralised, and the Association has no role in coin issuance.
When an EU trading platform or third party requests information about the protocol for its own compliance obligations (e.g., listing requirements), the Association will:
- Provide only public technical facts (e.g., protocol specifications, supply schedule, governance mechanics).
- Explicitly confirm that any information provided is non-reliance and does not substitute the third party’s own obligations.
This memorandum is informational in nature and does not constitute legal advice. The DMD Diamond Association maintains a commitment to operate outside the scope of MiCA by ensuring all regulated activities remain solely on the fully decentralised protocol.
