Interesting, wasn't aware of polyfill-glibc before - I only knew hacks that used inline-asm statements (IIRC?) to enforce using older versions of functions.

I wonder if it can cause any issues, as the version of a function is different from the one the compiler saw. Not sure what exactly could go wrong - do function argument (or return) types ever change based on the version? If so, that would probably blow up - but maybe that's not done or if it is, maybe polyfill has a special case to catch that, IDK.

I wish gcc would just allow specifying a glibc target version at compiletime :-/
