Release History
v1.3.0
New Feature: Responses
You now have the ability to "respond" to articles and proposals! You can respond to an article or proposal that you're reading by clicking the "Respond" button at the top of the page, or while editing your existing content by adding the ID of the item you'd like to respond to.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed and issue where the sidebar table of contents was not highlighting the section of the content currently being viewed.
v1.2.6
Updates
- Like
draftandunlistedcontent, privatecontent will now display a message at the top visible to the viewer (in this case, only the creator).
Bug Fixes
-
Safari users should now be able to select an asset when creating a proposal.
-
Images included in articles or proposals will no longer break the layout when viewed on mobile devices.
-
When viewing markdown content in the full-screen preview, the scroll bar will now be grab-able with the mouse (scroll wheel behavior is unchanged).
-
Previously, the markdown editor was a bit pushy, and was stealing focus when the create or edit page was loaded. This was problematic on mobile devices because it would set focus in such a way that the title of the page was no longer visible. The auto-focus behavior has been changed to improve the experience.
v1.2.5
Bug Fixes
-
The software regression introduced in the v1.2.4 patch that caused the error while saving an asset proposal has been remedied. You will now be able to correctly introduce proposals that are tied to organizations' assets.
-
Miscellaneous UI fixes to correct visual issues that were noticed during testing.
v1.2.4
Updates
- Daology registration is now open to everyone! Our preview period has ended and we'd like to thank everyone who participated. Lots of feedback was provided and a lot of the improvements made to the platform over the past few weeks can be tied directly to those suggestions.
Bug Fixes
-
Corrected an issue with form validation that caused some of the fields to be cleared incorrectly.
-
As you'd expect, a title is now required before you save an article or a proposal.
v1.2.3
Bug Fix
- Proposal watermark not using
httpson profile URL.
v1.2.2
Bug Fixes
-
Corrected an issue with short URLs for articles and proposals where the content ID hash weren't resolving.
-
Added a MIME type of "text/plain" to a proposal's raw display.
-
Enabled
httpsfor proposal watermark links. -
Minor style cleanup on the organization and profile cards.
v1.2.1
Updates
- An "Unlisted" indicator message has been added to content with that status, similar to how "Draft" content is called out.
Bug Fixes
-
Text with two or more
$in them ("...between $160 and $170 per week...") will no longer incorrectly be considered part of an inline math expression. TeX expressions now start and end with$$for inline equations and$$$for block display. -
The "Report Bug" icon only appears when signed in.
v1.2.0
Enhanced Content Editor
Daology's completely redesigned content editor is now available for use! It's significantly closer to the long-term vision that we have for a tool that makes drafting and publishing on Daology fit the needs of our content creators.
We've made sure that the output from the editor matches with the rendered content that you'll see displayed on your article and proposals. How it looks in the editor preview is how it will look everywhere else (and if you see something that doesn't match, we want to know about it!)
We're in the process of creating a set of support articles that cover all of the new functionality and syntax that you have access to, but until we get a chance to release those in the next few days, you'll find links to content samples that we modeled the new functionality after.
-
Unsaved content is now auto-saved (locally) every ten-seconds. We're using your browser's localStorage database to keep these records which means that these "draft" changes are only available on a single machine.
-
In-editor and full-screen previews are now available, as well as a "just let me focus on my content" full-screen editor view.
-
Support for Github-flavored Markdown, including tables with left-, center-, and right-aligned content.
-
TeX math rendering using the Khan Academy's awesome KaTeX library for inline and block display of equations (currently supported commands). To insert a block-level equation (centered on its own line), start and end your TeX code with
$$$. For an inline equation (where it is typeset within a block of text), start and end your TeX code with$$. -
Improved list nesting. We think we've caught most of the edge cases.
-
Auto-linking. Daology will automatically attempt to convert text links that it finds in your content into hyperlinks. You're welcome to use the "standard" markdown syntax (
[text-to-display](https://url)) when you want to turn a word or phrase into a hyperlink, too! -
Footnotes (example syntax).
-
Automatic syntax highlighting for
<code>blocks (for most programming languages).
Known Issue: The scrollbar on the full-screen editor when preview is misbehaving and does not appear to work. We're actively working to squash this bug but in the meantime you can use a mouse scroll wheel to scroll the content preview.
Updates
-
Lighter background color now in use on the site.
-
As a content creator, you now have the ability to filter your content by the "unlisted" status from the your profile page.
Bug Fixes
- Corrected a style that was causing some of the profile page content to be hidden on Firefox.

Bug Fixes
-
Fixed numerous styling issues (larger hover areas on icon elements, ToC showing up in places it shouldn't, organization card cutting off logos that aren't a sphere, and more).

Fixed "raw" button only showing up in certain cases. Now it is always visible on content pages.

When you visit your profile a message will pop up near the top if your account is not confirmed.
