This fork is ONLY for getting ImageMagick and RMagick to play nice together. It was built for the version 2.13.1 gem of RMagick which, at this point, relies on several versions back of ImageMagick, which then also had older dependencies.

In other words, only use this script if you are trying to get RMagick 2.13.1 working with ImageMagick, on Snow Leopard. I'm hopeful that this script will no longer be needed after RMagick releases a more up to date gem.

If you need ImageMagick for anything else, please travel up the fork and look at the other versions of this script.

Thanks Dave Sanders

Begin old README:

This is bash script to install ImageMagick on Snow Leopard.

Please have a look at to customize your environment.

You can run the script as a normal user, it does use sudo at a certain point, so be sure to not leave the installation unattended. Depending on many factors the sudo command may expire during the execution of the script, so if it asks you again the password don't worry, it's normal.

Alternatively you can run the script as root.

chmod +x

If you find that the script uses an outdated version of the requirements or ImageMagick, please modify the script accordingly, test if it can still produce a valid ImageMagick installation and notify me about the changes, thanks.
