In November 2022, there was a Destiny bug that was triggered by equipping certain emblems. This causes a problem in DIM and other apps where your characters do not show up.

Bungie tweeted how to fix this issue:

  1. Log in to Destiny, the game.
  2. Load up each character in game, one by one. Every one of them.
  3. For each character you load, change their emblem to another emblem. You must do this on every character.
  4. Reload DIM.

If you do not change the emblem on every character, you will still see the error!
