@magman2112 suggested the idea of a machine tool workshop at the Futuregazing event. Although we don't have the space at the moment it would be useful if he would like to jot down some rough ideas on what would be involved e.g. Inventory, cost, space, market size so that this could be considered if any future opportunities come up.

Cost - probably quite small if we can get some of the businesses that are either closing down or moving to pure CNC to donate equipment.
Space - the more the better, 3 phase power is a must
Inventory - lathe, vertical mill, wire EDM, in that order for the bigger machines - plus things like cut-off saws and the like to turn material into manageable pieces. Add in welding (MIG and TIG) and a hearth to give a truly enviable workshop.

@Sean-anotherone I like how you've put cost as small and space as "the more the better", those two are probably mutually exclusive ;-)

(Not @ Sean particularly) Jackie did mention market size in the description but I want to explain it a bit more, that if we have an idea how many people will want this and will pay for it then it will make things a lot easier, heck if we thought there was a big untapped market we would probably seek out somewhere to host it rather than waiting for the opportunity to come along (maybe).
