Not that we've discussed this before, it's come to my attention recently that the laser cutters could present a carbon monoxide risk from incomplete combustion when in use. As a risk level, I expect that there is no significant risk with the continuous, high flow extraction fans that we have.

But as we currently have no test for this (and on the basis that the results of carbon monoxide poisoning can build up over prolonged usage), coupled with the fact that audible alarms are cheap and easily available, I've ordered an alarm to arrive tomorrow.

  • buy a carbon monoxide alarm with an audible alarm,
  • receive it (expected arrival: 31st Jan),
  • put it on the wall in the workshop.
