It might be useful to have a list of places to distribute flyers (for future events or general publicity).

Here's a couple to start:

  • FACT, ground floor, by the door near the café
  • FACT, bar area
  • Koop chicken restaurant, Bold Street
  • Leaf, dresser at the back of ground floor

To add to the list:

  • All the libraries, especially the Central One. The museums, specifically the Tate one on the docks.
  • University libraries. I reckon DoES would get a quite a bit lot of attention by doing this. Being an ex student myself, I could have used a place like DoES for my final year project back in 2015/16.
  • All the Theatres / Arenas / Event Spaces.
  • Sensor City lobby.
  • The Charity shops and second hand cave like places that sell old stuff (I'm thinking that place on Tunnel Road).
  • All the new-skool bars/clubs and restaurants that pop up in town. Jackie mentioned Leaf, that's where these types of people go.
  • That Grand Central place that sells all the hippy-ish clothes and stuff on Renshaw Street.
  • Also online... Reddit.

I went to that Koop restaurant last night. Delicious to say the least.

Museums are really hard btw - even when I found one to take some for a council event they'd been binned the next day.

The stations were good though - the staff weren't bothered, whoever runs them only comes by once in a while but it might be worth making a note of the 0151 number thats on them and organising regular stock.

As far as Uni's go you'd be better off asking lecturers in a STEAM field to put a poster up in their office / department- an appeal could be made to people in Unis/Education on the google group. And if there's a public link to print off I know many of us could forward this on to those in positions we know, I can. As no doubt can @goatchurchprime, for example.

There's also tie in with other spaces, depending on the content We Make Spaces CIC, Ninety Squared CIC (Make Baltic and Make North Docks Locations), Constellations, Baltic Creative CIC, to name a handful. And I'd be happy to put up poster in Drop the Dumbells Gallery and Fulton Street Co-Op too, the communities round there don't get much bar woodworking workshops.

... I don't let me kid on my phone.

As I was saying... I could target specific lecturers at the Dept of EEE of UoL? But I'll do it after I get some more input about this suggestion.

I think it's worth my tagging this with the Move labels, as it can be a part in our promotional blitz for the new building.

Ideally, we'll need new flyers and posters creating, so if anyone is artistic and fancies having a bash, please do.

@SayBeano I like your idea about having an online resource that we can just point people at, and they canprint them off on their own. Might be useful to have a 'Resources' page on the new website (#19)

This isn't going to happen before we move, so I'm removing the Move label from it. I've minted a new Promotion label to group things like this in future (always be promoting DoES...)
