Just found out about this thing -- which has lots of high profile folks at it -- just down the road (nearer to the Baltic Quarter, ho hum) in late September. http://theworldtransformed.org/#programme

Unfortunately, the program is now full, so we can't submit anything to it. I went to the one in 2016 in the same place (it was free and 2 blocks away in the Black_E, so I had to), and attended a session about tech future and hack spaces, led by https://twitter.com/n_srnck @n_srnck who writes books about this sort of thing. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to visit Hanover Street, because he had to fly to Japan that evening. He's probably doing the same panel this time, and maybe we can talk to him in advance. These people are so busy they don't have time to critically seek out and learn anything outside the zone, and generally have to follow whatever leads are competent at subtly marketing themselves to them as they go with the flow.

Folks, we should have a lot more profile and credibility now, and probably a better story (we have the tech manufacturing know-how, although very little arty crafty). Unfortunately, people only know about things like guardian article about building bloqs, coz that's what's within the M25. So when all the influential people actually get out of London to a place in our very own city, we can't squander the opportunity like we always do. We got find some of the local organizers within the next month and see if there's something we can contribute, be it a meeting room, AV gear, or a MitchA inspired solder workshop. Is there not a cross-over between Makerfest and this sort of thing?
