PledgeMicrowave =

== Result ==

We have two microwaves!

== What? == It'd be useful to have a microwave so we can heat up food! Hopefully somebody will be along soon to provide links to the one they'd like to get...

'''Expected cost:''' £50?

Pledge Bike Pump =

== Result ==

JohnMcKerrell has now bought the following from Clas Ohlson:

|| Track Pump || £15.99 || || Puncture Repair Kit || £1.99 || || Puncture Repair Patches || £2.29 || || '''''Total''''' || £20.27 ||

The repair kit and patches are in the cupboard, the track pump is behind the fridge.

== What? ==

A bike pump in case of tyre related emergencies, perhaps we can get a repair kit too for good measure if enough people are interested.

'''Expected cost:''' no more than £20-25

A couple of recommendations...

PledgeVacuumFormer =

== What? == A vacuum former so we can make interestingly shaped plastic things :)

'''Expected cost:''' £150?

One has come up on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320916352220?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 There's some discussion about one (which the guy bought for £150) over at http://www.therpf.com/f9/just-bought-vac-former-question-experts-70253/ - seems it's got a bed size of ~9"x17" and will do ~6" deep. I also found mention of someone picking one up from his local school having a clearout for a tenner, and another that sold in Ireland for Eur225. Well, that one went for £382 in the end, so we didn't get it...

I guess unless someone desperately wants one, we'll see how much the pledge is, and see if we get lucky :)

How much does the ammo cost, and where do you get it from? -- JRPeterson Hindleys appears to sell it, at 92p/sheet at 1mm thick, and £1.38/sheet for 1.5mm thick http://www.hindleys.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=7_57_60_79_1442

Didn't someone say that we'd won one of these on ebay? -- JRP

Woohoo! We won it! For £270, and after a poll (advertised on the Google Group) we're going to use the extra cash pledged to buy some materials to experiment with. If you pledged, give us your money (and ask if you want an invoice for it) -- AdrianMcEwen

PledgeLaserCutter =

'''PLEDGE CLOSED BECAUSE ROSS DALZIEL HAS MOVED IN, WHICH INVOLVED DOES AGREEING TO BUY HIS BIG LASER-CUTTER ON HP''' :-)

== What? ==

A new Laser Cutter, bigger and better than the existing one. We'd probably go for the LS6090 this time, which is about the biggest one that HPC do. Need to confirm that we'd actually be able to get it into DoES ok.

http://hpclaser.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=11

'''Expected cost:''' £6300 (inc VAT)

With such a high cost I (JohnMcKerrell) would want to investigate having a VAT registered company (such as mine) buy it so that contributions can be VAT-reclaimable. This may not be possible but worth looking into.

PledgeAeropress =

== What? == It'd be useful to have an Aeropress so we can make small amounts/individual cups of coffee when we want to. The [http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000GXZ2GS?ie=UTF8&camp=3194&creative=21330&creativeASIN=B000GXZ2GS&linkCode=shr&tag=clicknmix-21&qid=1390321117&sr=8-1&keywords=Aeropress Aerobie AeroPress Coffee Maker] is great and ~£25, plus ~£5 for some extra filters would sort us out.

PledgeOscilloscope =

== What? ==

An oscilloscope so we can do more exciting electronics stuff.

'''Expected cost:''' £300?

A couple of recommendations...

  • A USB scope - MSO 19 [https://usbdso.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=34&products_id=69] - would be cheaper as a first option maybe
  • DavidJones suggested something like a Tektronix TDS1012 100 MHz 2 Channel Digital Real-Time Oscilloscope (they seem relatively easy to pick up for £300 2nd-hand on ebay, e.g. [http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tektronix-TDS1012-100-MHz-2-Channel-Digital-Real-Time-Oscilloscope-/270909341611?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item3f13747fab#ht_835wt_1274] *I've just found out that PRS on Dale street (I think ... oposite the council tax place) are selling second hand Tektronix 2205 (sans probes) for £75 I think this would be a good route to go down. It looks basic, but functional, apparently it's the standard uni electronics class model. Basic BNC Probes should set us back another £~20 -- JRP

We '''should''' be soon getting a Hameg HM203-5 20MHz - for free. Donated to DoES by a friend of mine, I just need to arrange getting it up from London - AdrianMcEwen
