This issue is for sharing any information on successful sessions with gqrx-ghostbox.

Please include:

  • A description of your usage, what happened, and external links to any media
  • The command line options used to invoke gqrx-ghostbox
  • The type of hardware used (type of SDR, type of antenna, upconverter)
  • Any notable configuration options in Gqrx
  • Any other notes on your setup and usage (antenna placements, ancient ghost evocation ritual, etc)

I had success with SDRSharp+scanner plugin, which looks to be the same thing. I wasnt able to understand how to install your program but would love to try it.

In this bit of video, a voice clearly repeats the two control/test words "KITTY CAT" (@4secs.) then "NANTUCKET" (@15secs). Whatever it may be, ghosts or otherwise, those were intelligent responses. Pretty cool!

Yes, rtlsdr does work as a ghost box. :)

Started to test this and get couple of good results:

  • Command line options for gqrx-ghostbox: gqrx-ghostbox --scanning-mode=backward
  • Type of hardware used: AirSpy Mini with simple FM-dipole about 7m from a ground
  • Results: When I asked (in Finnish which is my native language): "Is there any spirits here"? I get reply: "Yes there is" (in finnish: Kyllä täällä on) and second: "How many spirits are here" Reply: "Only Me" (Vain minä)

Must test this more because this is quite promising. For next test I set up Audio Hijack - app to recoding gqrx audio and my questions from microphone.
