Could a Linux version possibly be a thing in the future?

I see no technical reasons to not port OwlPlug to Linux. It's not on the roadmap because it's not a strong demand, but it fit the project philosophy perfectly.

Step 1

Relates to #143

• Update code base to detect Linux platform
• Update code base to recognize Linux VST plugins (PluginDescovery)
• Compile native-embedded JNI Host Library
• Compile owlplug-scanner for linux - Linux support OwlPlug/owlplug-scanner#1
• Update Github Actions workflow to build and package app for linux

Step 2

• Prepare app distribution with package managers snap, apt, .. ?

Step 3

• Add Linux VSTs to OwlPlug Central store

I can't give an ETA, but I will keep this in mind.

Hi there,

OwlPlug on Linux is on it's way ! 🎉

Most of the work on the client-side has been done.
I'm working on server-side stuff to update the way the central collection of plugins works. I want these changes to be done before adding all Linux VST to the OwlPlug Central Store.

Anyway, as I have merged #143, Linux binaries will be available with the next version 1.20.0
