Let's have a private privacy badger alpha for Chrome with the following features:

  • Heuristic blocking implemented, but in test mode where resources aren't blocked
  • Whitelist is implemented, pulled down from a URL
  • The following data is collected: third-party resources that would have been blocked, third-party resources that would have been blocked if it weren't for whitelisting, prevalence of said resources, whether cookies are being set incoming, whether they are being sent outgoing, other detected settings (third-party cookie blocking, other addons that block cookies?)
  • The data is sent to an EFF-controlled server in order to measure effectiveness of decentralized blocking
  • The alpha is distributed to EFF staff and close friends, with a clear warning that this is for data collection purposes and it is not blocking resources, that we will discard any IP information related to the data set we receive, and that we will discard all data at the end of our experiment.
