It seems that it works in principle, but there is a rather large delay between calls to the native MMF and the point where they take effect in the Java Code. Either the user has to be patient (forget it), or I have to find a way to really wait inside the code. More threads?

All in all, it is now better than in die Hos geschiss. Remaining problems:

  • after the player is initialised, playback start position keeps being reset to 0, this changes after a while, probably after the cursor has been set successfully once
  • if playback interval is called twice in very close succession, playback starts from the end, rather than the start of the interval - again, it seems to take a while until the cursor is where it should be. No chance for "loop interval playback" under these conditions

It seems the player must have played once before setting the cursor in the timeline viewer works. Otherwise, it keeps snapping back to zero.
