Rm2k battle word wrap bugs - includes game freeze #1570

Create a skill with a start message of "%S%S%S%S%S%SXYZ"

When used by the Skeleton enemy in RPG_RT, all of the %S will be replaced by the enemy name. The line will be truncated with the Z cutoff.

In Player, the game will freeze in an infinite loop in the word wrapping code in find_glyph() in font.cpp:51. If you remove the Z Player will render the string. If you add a space, Player will word wrap the string but it won't play nicely with the BattleActionState_ResultPop.

So the bugs are:

  • Word wrap logic hangs when there is a single word larger than the console width
  • Word wrap is not handled properly in BattleActionState_ResultPop
