Original ticket on 39190420-10-21 by trac user gnirpaz, assigned to unknown.

Elgg version: 1.5

I have installed both 1.5rc1 and rc2 on godaddy. The tools drop-down menu does not appear and the status message never goes away and remains on the screen.

Here's what I did (for rc2)

  1. copy and open the .tar.gz file
  2. extract the tar file into into a /html/elgg15 directory
  3. rename the elgg1.5 directory to elgg15
  4. copy the dist_htaccess to .htaccess and add more /elgg15/ rewrite directive
  5. create a data directory outside of the installation dir under /html/data/elgg15/
  6. create a new mysql 5.0 database
  7. start and configure the site - all works well except for the reported bugs

I you'd like I can give you a user to the system to look for some more info.

Godaddy does not like the JS URL format:

(In [svn:3151]) Javascript loaded using a safer URL scheme. Fixes #862
