In composition of soil, I think the PATO composition quality is not being used correctly:

Definition: A single physical entity
inhering in an bearer by virtue of the bearer's quantities or
relative ratios of subparts. [database_cross_reference: PATOC:GVG]

comment:For example calcium composition
(which may inhere in bone), haemoglobin composition (which
may inhere in blood).

This suggests that soil composition is a quality that inheres in some portion of environmental material which includes soil.

I think the intent is to express the relative ratios of materials that make up soil.
There should thus be something along the lines of:
(silt composition AND sand composition AND clay composition AND mineral composition AND organic matter composition AND gaseous material composition AND liquid material composition) inheres_in some soil
