Term expansion request: Marine Sediment #482
Comments
|
Hey @mschecht perhaps we can look at this later. @pbuttigieg recommends "It would be better to use more terms (one stating that the sample came from a coastal environment and one or more describing the actual physicochemical properties of the sediment)" |
|
Hi @mschecht
This is a good point: the label is misleading. Since the term has been out for a while, I can't change the def without obsoleting it. I can, however, change the label and introduce another term to describe the shallower sediments. However, I don't think the new term would be as useful to you as including several ENVO terms to describe the sample. For example:

Hey @pbuttigieg @mschecht, this is addressed in #483 |

@kaiiam many thanks - please make a note to close this once the PR is merged and a new release is made. |

Hey @pbuttigieg @kaiiam, I am looking utilize an ENVO term to describe 'continental shelf marine sediment' but unfortunately I can only find the "marine sediment" term referring to deep sea basin sediment types. Can the "marine sediment" term be expanded to include the continental shelf region?
Cheers,
