Suggested definition: A biome that is determined by and contained within a
digestive tract?

Definition source:

Suggested parent class:

biome

Suggested differentia:

determined_by?? UBERON:0001555 ! digestive tract "Tube extending from the mouth
to the anus."

Suggested synonyms:

digestive tract biome

Notes:

The uberon class is applicable across bilateria. It's spatial extent is from
the mouth to the anus. Consider more specific terms for specific regions (some
of which may be taxon-constrained). E.g. mouth, intestine, small intestine,
rectum, etc.

I don't think we can really use "biome" here. It's problematic enough for macroecology. I think sticking with digestive tract environment =def. environmental system 'determined by' some digestive tract is best.

This historical issue has been resolved - we use the environmental system hierarchy and classes from UBERON to capture this. See the Meteoromics release for the latest version of this approach, using UBERON's digestive tract class
