Apparently people, have problems navigating the website.

For example finding the accommodations page seems rather difficult:

https://mail.python.org/pipermail/europython/2014-February/008323.html

Looks like the only way to get there, besides a deep link, is to open the sub menus with a click on small icon to the far right. This seems not not really intuitive to me. If people like Thomas Waldmann have problems to find the page, there must be something wrong. I would expect that the sub menus open when you click on the main navigation item like VENUE or PROPOSALS. I think many visitors do too, as the list message cited above indicates. Also, adding something like "expand navigation" or so to the icon to the right might help.

The solution could be to open the entire menu when clicking the links on the main level.

Ok, now that I'm back from vacation and reading this more thoroughly I realize I answered to quickly. The changes from @mschufferth do not improve the mobile navigation.
