EE version 6.0.6

Go to Roles, Website Access and check:

Author lists under "Include members in"

Then go back and try to uncheck it. The role is saved without errors but when loading the Role again the checkbox Author lists is checked again.

Can't remove the checkbox, Authors lists once saved in a role.
