Iceologer

An iceologer is a spell-casting illager armed with bow. He can be only found in iceologer cabin structure and in raids.

Spawning

Iceologer Cabin

Individual iceologers spawn during the generation of iceologer cabin structure. They do not respawn after their initial spawn.

Iceologers spawned with iceologer cabin do not naturally despawn (unless the world is switched to peaceful mode‌).

Raids

Iceologers can spawn during raids by themselves or riding ravagers. Iceologers cannot spawn in raids in easy difficulty, because such raids have only three waves, while iceologers appear in the fifth wave and above.


Drops

  • 1 Totem of Freezing. The Looting enchantment does not increase this drop, and it is always dropped, no matter if another mob killed it or not.
  • 0–2 Blue ice, with an increase by 1 with each level of looting, 0-5 maximum.
  • 0–1 Emerald if killed by the player, with an increase by 1 with each level of looting, 0-4 maximum.
  • 1 Ominous banner, if they spawn as a wave leader in raid or take an ominous banner on the ground.
  • 5 experience orbs are dropped when killed by a player or tamed wolf.

Behavior

Iceologers attack players, villagers, iron golems, and wandering traders within 16 blocks if a raid occurs. He attacks with his spells.

The iceologer moves quickly and always tries to maintain a consistent distance between itself and the player, retreating if the player gets too close, and advancing if the player retreats.

Any iceologer can join a patrol if sufficiently near a patrol captain.

The iceologer has two spells: a spell that freezes/slows its opponent, and a spell that summons ice chunk above the player.

Summoning ice chunk

Ice chunks stay directly above the target until they drop, damaging all targets below it. If an ice chunk hits a tall structure, it will break. An ice chunk can harm another mob on which it lands.
