🎉 Flopcoin Core v2.0.0.0 (Hard Fork)

This mandatory update activates a hard fork at block 125,000, introducing:

  • ✅ Enforced FlopFund Dev Fee (10% of block reward) with automatic expiry at height 600,000
  • 🧠 FlopFund dev fee validation inside block creation and consensus
  • 🧱 getblocktemplate RPC improvements for mining pool compatibility
  • 🔐 New messageStart bytes to prevent cross-chain interference
  • ⚠️ Incompatible nodes will be disconnected at fork height

💡 All pools, nodes, and wallets must upgrade before the fork height to stay connected.

✅ Flopcoin v1.3.1.1 – Mandatory Upgrade

🔧 Changes:

  • ⏱️ Hard fork activation delayed from block 120,000 to 125,000
  • No other changes or improvements included

⚠️ Important:
This is a mandatory upgrade. All nodes, wallets, and mining pools must run v1.3.1.1 or higher before block 125,000 to remain on the correct chain and avoid consensus issues.

🚀 Flopcoin v1.3.1.0 – Pre-Fork Update & FlopFund Enforcement

📅 Release Date: 03-25-2025

🔧 Type: Mandatory Upgrade (for all users running v1.3.0.1 or earlier)

🔄 What's New in v1.3.1.0

This release prepares Flopcoin for the upcoming v2.0.0.0 hard fork that will introduce a mandatory developer fee mechanism called "FlopFund" to support exchange listings, liquidity, airdrops, and operational costs. This was voted on by the Flopcoin community with 64% of respondents approving.

🛠️ Key Changes

  • 🔌 Automatic Network Shutdown at Fork Height
When the node reaches the last supported block before the fork height, it will:

    • Disconnect from all peers
    • Disable further network activity
    • Stop mining any additional blocks
  • ⚠️ Advance Warning Alerts (UI, StatusBar, RPC)
From 5,000 blocks before the fork, all clients will be notified that their version is expiring and must upgrade before reaching the fork.

  • 🛑 Mining Disabled After Fork
Older wallets will not be able to generate blocks beyond the fork height, ensuring chain safety and preventing accidental post-fork mining.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • All miners, pools, and users must upgrade to v2.0.0.0 before the fork height.
  • v1.3.1.0 is the final version that supports the current consensus rules before the transition.
  • The fork height will be defined in the v2.0.0.0 release.

✅ Recommended Action

Upgrade to v1.3.1.0 immediately if you're running v1.3.0.1 or earlier, especially if you're a miner, pool operator, or node host.

v1.3.0.1

@le2Ks le2Ks released this 23 Mar 16:30

🎉 Flopcoin v1.3.0.1 — Compatibility & Security Enhancement Update

Flopcoin v1.3.0.1 is a minor but important update focused on improving peer compatibility checks and ensuring secure network connections as part of the V3 consensus upgrade. It builds upon the major changes introduced in v1.3.0.0.

🔒 What's New in v1.3.0.1

  • ✅ Enhanced compatibility logic
Peers running outdated versions (prior to v1.3.0.0) will now be automatically disconnected after V3ForkHeight is reached, ensuring all connected nodes are compatible with new consensus rules.

  • ✅ Strict project identity checks
Only nodes using the official client name (Floptoshi) are allowed to connect. Peers using modified or spoofed client names (e.g., /Floptoshi:1.3.0(xxxxxxx)/) are rejected to maintain network integrity.

  • ✅ Regex-based version parsing
Peer subversions are parsed dynamically using regex, supporting future upgrades like v1.4.0.0+ or v2.x.

  • ✅ Centralized branding
The compatibility system now dynamically reads the CLIENT_NAME (Floptoshi) for consistency across the codebase.

⛓️ Minimum Requirements

  • Nodes must be running v1.3.0.1 or higher to stay connected to the mainnet once V3ForkHeight is reached.

MAJOR UPDATE v1.2.0 - All Nodes Must Update!

We have lowered the AuxPow merge mining activation from block 371,337 down to 110,000.
In other words, you will now be able to merge mine Flopcoin with Dogecoin and Litecoin after block 110,000.
We have done this in the interest of network security to raise the overall hashrate.

All network nodes must update before block 110,000 to prevent a network split!
