FooFiles

FooFiles is your very own personal file space on web.

Features

  • it is lightweight (written in pure javascript)
  • integrate it with any storage service (you just need to override api.js file)
  • works on all modern browsers, but you better use Chrome ;)
  • also it is responsive and works on mobile devices too
  • you can write your own units / apps for it
  • it already has apps for:
    • music files (.mp3, .aac, .m4a, .wav, .ogg)
    • video files (.mp4, .webm)
    • image files (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .ico, .svg)
    • pdf files (.pdf)
    • text files and many source files (see text-viewer.js)

Creating new unit

// New FooFiles unit.
ff.newUnit = (function(dependency1, dependency2, undefined) {
    'use strict';

    // Private data/functions go here.
    var privateString = "Very Private";
    function privateFunc(param1, param2) {
        ...
    }
    ...

    // Public data/functions go here.
    var self = {
        publicString: "Hello Unit!",
        publicFunc: function (param1) {
            ...
        }
        ...
    };

    // Return unit instance.
    return self;
})(dependency1, dependency2);

Creating new app

// New FooFiles app.
ff.newApp = (function(ff, dependency1, dependency2, undefined) {
    'use strict';

    // Public data/functions go here.
    var self = {
        // Returns icon url.
        icon: function (ext) {
            ...
        },

        // Open file with assigned type.
        open: function (file, uri, downloadUri) {
            ...
        }
    };

    // Assign supported types.
    ff.assign("type1", self);
    ff.assign("type2", self);
    ...

    // Return unit instance.
    return self;
})(ff, dependency1, dependency2);
