I started using Font Awesome on my blog and it's, well, awesome, but I'd love to have a set of game console/platform icons I could use. I'm talking about stuff like PC, PlayStation, DS, etc., possibly even distribution platforms, such as Steam, GOG, etc.
I tried using the search for this, but I got nothing. Sorry if I'm just repeating another issue.
With many responsive sites wishing to show icons for phone, tablet, laptop and desktop, a game console icon (and a TV one) would also be very welcome additional to this amazing tool you have created for us.
an icon request for steam is here: #1035
meanwile, FA 3.1.1 provides a generic icon-gamepad http://fontawesome.io/icon/gamepad/
👍 Working on something right now that would make great use of platform icons.
I agree that this would be great!
This issue is only for console brands.
If you are interested in Steam, please +1 request #1035
Icons for Steam, Desura, GOG would be great!
+1 for PlayStation and Xbox mainly.
+1 Xbox and Playstation mainly.
Hi, you can also add the icon of the psn network? Thanks
+1 I will love to see this icons
Joining the request +1 i would also like to have an game consoles icons for use.
@tagliala These video game issues (consoles, steam, origin, teamspeak, ventrillo, mumble) are gaining quite a bit of interest. Any way we could get these soon? I've been waiting for over 6 months on these, and others have been waiting even longer.
@aequasi I don't know. It depends on many things. If you need those icons, you should consider a custom build of fontawesome at http://fontello.com/ http://icomoon.io/app/#/select or http://fontastic.me/
+1 that would be awesome to have all consoles icons (Playstation, Xbox, Wii, ...)
+1 for origin
+1 for Xbox and Playstation icons
For Xbox, something like this:
For PlayStation, something like this:
Alternatively/Additionally, you could do the PlayStation Network logo. It would be more descriptive for a link to someone's PSN profile, but perhaps less recognizable:
For Nintendo Network, something like this:
And not to forget the Windows logo for PC games.
@aequasi Thanks, I must be blind. :)
@oxguy3 Imagine the thousands of gaming sites out there. When they report about games or want to link the different versions, they usually use the Windows logo.
@jackennils It's pretty common to use the Steam logo, since PC games can also be on many other storefronts (GOG, Humble Store, Origin, etc), and the Windows logo might mislead people into thinking it's on Games for Windows Live or something. Usually you'd only use a Windows logo if you had it beside links for other computer OSes (e.g. OS X or Linux).
Figured it's about time I put in my 2 cents in. Thank you @oxguy3 for putting more visuals to the situation! It's also caused me to think about some aspects.
In the case of PlayStation, there's both a platform and a service. The PlayStation logo guides being very particular between when to use the PlayStation icon and when to use the PSN icon.
Are you communicating a PlayStation network account? For example, signifying a profile OR allowing the user to login with their PSN account? Use the PSN (Globe) icon.
Are you communication this is a game for use on the PlayStation console? Use the PlayStation (PS) icon. There's no official logo between PS3, PS4, Vita, etc.
Nintendo's guidelines are using the fully spelled out product names as designed; AKA not in logo form. That is the Nintendo Network logo, but like with PlayStation Network, it's the network not the platform. I don't really think there's a good way to icon-ify the Nintendo platforms.
Like PlayStation, the Xbox logo is the same between the One and 360. It's also interchanged with the network as well. Microsoft is moving accounts towards a unified Microsoft account, which Font Awesome already has. So having the Xbox logo should be enough.
As @aequasi pointed out, these icons are already available in Font Awesome. No need for anything unique.
@TheSeg Yeah in general, the use cases I was thinking of were the networks rather than the platforms. Like, I wanted an icon to link to an individual's Xbox/PSN/Nintendo Network profile page, which isn't tied to any specific platform.
+1. Working on a site with user profiles that have PSN and XBL in them. Would be great to have this.
+1 i want it!
+1! really need these!
+1 for the Xbox and Nintendo Network icons. Currently I'm using the Windows logo on my tumblr for Xbox Live, and I would like to add in a link to my Nintendo Network/Miiverse profile.
+1 would love this.
Especially for the distribution platforms. Steam is already there but I'm missing GOG, Desura and Origin.

First of all, I think this violates Font Awesome rules to not request a set of icons at once.
"Please make requests for single icons, unless you are requesting a couple of strictly related icons"
Are the requested icons not related?
This is an old request and has a lot of +1s.
Major Browser were all included in a single request, see #219
IMHO it's fine to have the 3 major video game console brands in a single request.
+1 (ps: i signed up on github just to post this)
+1, for Xbox especially. Really wanting to display a list of networks people can connect with me on and Xbox is a huge one for me.
You have included Steam, why not Xbox or PS?
+1 for Xbox!
NES, SNES, SEGA Megadrive, PCX, C64 and N64 for starters.
YAS PLZ +1
+1 fa-xbox plz =)
+1 fa-gogcom please!
Wow that these hasn't been added 3 years later.
Did we level this up yet? Am I hearing legend of zelda music?
I wonder why these icons are not already implemented? I think they are pretty important.
Any way to help here?
This issue is so popular it's began to attract spam +1s...
@tagliala It's about time to do something about this issue. It's very clear that alot of people want these icons included. In fact it's becoming so popular it's attracting spam bots now, spamming those who have commented. I suggest you either promise to include this in version X or close the issue down entirely (if you do not plan to include these in FontAwesome).
Either way, the time to do something is -now-. Make it happen.
@nfMalde Stop posting your spam! 😠
@davegandy Please lock comments on this thread (to prevent more spam).
Let me guess this is a licensing issue perhaps?
Xbox (Microsoft) and Playstation (Sony) not give consent?
Pretty poor solution ( Locking comments) instead of talking to people about why something hasn't / can't be done.
@n8-sd Whoops. I think you got something wrong. Github just deleted three spam comments which my comment was about. I updated my post.
@Kovah thats a better reasoning.
How ever for something such a hot topic, I dont think it should be "locked"
