What can it be used for?

It's a brand icon for the cool what3words solution of addressing the world. The icon can be used online (and in print) as an indication that what follows is the unique what3words address of a business, event, artist's entrance, village etcetera. The use is similar to how either the social media brand icons are used to indicate that what follows is the handle on a particular platform, or a phone for a phone number, a house for an address, etcetera.

Icon request checklist

  • [x ] This is a single icon or matched pair (Ex: lock / unlock)
  • [ x] The title starts with "Icon request: " and is followed by the requested icon name (Ex: Icon request: magical-unicorn)
  • [ x] I have searched for existing issues and to the best of my knowledge this is not a duplicate
  • [x ] I have included at least one example image if it could be helpful (optional)
  • [x ] The request is for a concrete object (it's harder to make an icon to represent happiness, it's easier to make a smiley face. )

On their styleguide page they link to a dropbox folder that contains their logo in different formats such as ai, png and svg.

Just a bit more info on this request (hopefully it'll help make the case)

The what3words symbol helps users quickly identify a what3words address with ///. For instance; ///filled.count.soap is a precise location in Bayswater, London. Auto companies like Mercedes-Benz and Tata, with thousands of sites, apps and businesses use millions of what3words addresses in 37 languages and 240 territories to share location with customers, community groups and services.

Just updating this request with the correct what3words address glyph created to Font Awesome guidelines. This glyph is used by what3words and thousands of 3rd party partners/products. Main reason to use this is for UX - to indicate a what3words address.

what3words primary glyph200px

Correct svg file can be downloaded here.

It is recommended that this glyph is used in red #E11F26 or navy #0A3049 but companies usually match their own brand colours.

Note : There is also a negative glyph. This is less essential as anyone is free to use /// as live text if easier/preferred.

what3words alt glyph slash200px

Correct svg file can be downloaded here.

For context:
what3words addresses are being used in a continuously growing global ecosystem of cars (Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Tata), navigation apps, emergency services (85% of UK, 100% Australia, Canada, etc), for infrastructure, by e-commerce sites /couriers and on business or travel listings. Read more about what3words here.
