Hi,

I saw your post about allowing contributions through Github. We have a similarish project going on.

After adding a Github edit baclinks, using Github's thorugh-the-web file editor, the number of contributors went through the roof:

http://opensourcehacker.com/2012/01/08/readthedocs-org-github-edit-backlink-and-short-history-of-plone-documentation/

I'd suggest something similar could be added for caniuse.com, so that pages would a link back to Github file where the data can be contributed.

It seemed like a suggestion rather than an issue, so I thought it was safe to close. Am I doing it wrong? :)

Well, if you plan to implement the suggestion, I think it makes sense to leave the "issue"* open, update it if you do try something and have any news/insights to share, and close it after it is implemented, or if you decide not to (in which case it'd be nice to also provide the rationale for the closing).

* - yeah, these names never work universally, anyway: ticket, bug, etc.

Usually Github issue trackers have Labels on the right side - don't know why this doesn't has. There is "enhancement" so you can label these kind of things with different color and leave open.

Cheers,

A feature suggestion/request means that a feature is missing.
A missing feature is a problem.
A problem is an issue.
So a suggestion is indeed an issue.

Thanks all, got it! So yeah, this definitely makes sense and should be pretty easy to add to the site. Will leave the issue open until then.

Okay, have now added links to each feature (to the right of the tabs under each table).
