The low penetration of connectivity-enabled OBUs is delaying the deployment of Vehicular Networks (VNs), and therefore the development of Vehicular Delay Tolerant Network (VDTN) applications, among others. We propose GRCBox, an architecture based on RaspberryPi devices that allows integrating smartphones in VNs. GRCBox combines several SW module…

GRCBox: Extending Smartphone Connectivity in Vehicular Networks The GRCBox offers an architecture that extends the in-vehicle connectivity by providing both inter- and intra-vehicular communication support. Using GRCBox each application can choose the interface for its data flows, which increases flexibility and will allow developers to easily implement applications based on ad-hoc connectivity, such as VDTN applications. If you use it, please cite: "Simplifying the in-vehicle connectivity for ITS applications" Sergio Tornell, Teemu Kärkkäinen, Jörg Ott, Carlos Calafate, Juan-Carlos Cano, and Pietro Manzoni EAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web 15(7), 2015, DOI: 10.4108/eai.22-7-2015.2260058 More documentation is available in the project wiki: https://github.com/GRCDEV/GrcBox/wiki The Javadoc is here: http://grcdev.github.io/GrcBox/doc/
