Problem Description

AIR SDK 32 and 33-beta (latest)
Android

Recently, we've been trying to update our AR ANE to latest versions of Wikitude, All the work went smoothly but on Android, we found a problem.

When the AR camera closes, the AIR content is missing. AIR is there and I can confirm that with touch traces, actually the touch works on buttons but it's just invisible.

Then, if you rotate the device, the AIR content comes back. We compiled the app with AIR 33 and 32. same result.

It feels like because the AR camera is using up a lot of resources, the AIR content looses its visibility. When AR camera is closed, the resources will be freed also but yet, the AIR content will become invisible. I'm not sure but this is the best I could guess.

Steps to Reproduce

install this demo .apk. When the app starts, it asks for camera and GPS permissions, then a list of AR samples will open. click on any of them, the Wikitude AR camera opens and everything works as expected. Now hit the device's back button to return to the AIR screen. You will see a blank white page!

Notice: This is a demo app. If you are using an old Android device which might not support Gyroscope, the app won'y start. So, please make sure you are installing the app on a device which supports Accelerometer and Gyroscope sensors.

Actually the AIR content is there, you can still scroll and if you hit a button in the scroller, you will see that it does work. It's just invisible.

Now try to rotate your device. The AIR screen now comes back and you can see the content.

We have the same problem when AIR application goes to background and after some time returns to foreground (by code or manually from Recent apps or by Intent). It's not 100% reproducible. More often reproducible when video playback with renderMode direct.
