Samples --> Sample Data

10 sample datasets to include (phx, boston, san fran crime are on server but not part of the current list) -- these include points, areas, rates, and time. Let's use descriptions before parantheses instead of names in ():

US County Homicides (natregimes)
House Prices Baltimore (baltimore)
House Prices Boston (boston)
Columbus Test Data (columbus)
SIDS Rates NC (sids2)
Nepal Aid (nepal)
NYC Subborough Data (nyc)
Malaria Colombia Cities (colmunic)
ACS Data Phoenix (phoenix)
San Francisco Crime (san fran crime)

In sample data tab, for each item, the first line has to be the layer name, which is used to open the shapefile and can't be modified manually (e.g. natregimes -> US County Homicides (natregimes). The description is the second line, due to the limited space, the font is set to smaller than first line. The third line is for datasource (path).

Original ticket not yet implemented: List of sample data is much longer than the 10 above.

if changed the first line (layer name) to

US County Homicides (natregimes)
House Prices Baltimore (baltimore)
House Prices Boston (boston)
Columbus Test Data (columbus)
SIDS Rates NC (sids2)
Nepal Aid (nepal)
NYC Subborough Data (nyc)
Malaria Colombia Cities (colmunic)
ACS Data Phoenix (phoenix)
San Francisco Crime (san fran crime)

it's a little too long. And the second line (the description) is then duplicated

update

After the first 10 datasets, all of the other ones are still loaded. My understanding after our last meeting was we only wanted to load the first ten and then include a link to the web service tab (could just be called Web) where the gejsons can be accessed? Since we'll keep adding more datasets, otherwise the list will get longer and longer.

Samples --> Sample Data

does that work or is it too long?

GeoDa 1.8.15.27 — Mac OSX

Looks good but when I check "don't display recent" and then check this box again in preferences, it won't display:

Due to an issue of auto-resize (larger) dialog of wx. This will not take effect immediately, one will see it when you close"Connect to Data source" and re-open it. Won't fix.
