Describe the change or feature you'd like to see added to HandBrake:

Please support NetBSD operating system.
I have some patches in my branches, see:
https://github.com/ryoon/HandBrake/tree/netbsd
and
https://github.com/ryoon/HandBrake/tree/more-pythons

What version of HandBrake are you currently using? (e.g., 1.0.0)

Git HEAD of 2019-05-03

What operating system and version are you running? (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.3 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update)

NetBSD/amd64 8.99.37

HandBrake Activity Log (see https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/help/activity-log.html)

I think that it is not relevant for this request.

Can you submit a pulll request? We don't have the manpower to maintain support for additional platforms. But we gladly accept pull requests as long as they are written in such a way that they don't affect the officially supported platforms (Windows, OSX, Linux).

Also, if there are any special build instructions you would like to contribute for NetBSD, these can be added here https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake-docs/tree/master/source/docs/en/latest/developer

The NetBSD branch looks good, submit a pull request and I'll merge.

Does NetBSD not symlink python3/python2? If we have to add more binaries to that line, I would prefer python3 python3.7 python3.6 python3.5 python3.4 python3.3 python3.2 python3.1 python2 python2.7 python.

We've not heard back in a while so we are closing this issue out. We are happy to accept Pull Requests for this where sensible but as john stated, it's not something we can maintain ourselves.

Thanks

I'll see if I can port over the commits, it's fairly straightforward and basically the same as FreeBSD.
