Description of the feature or enhancement you'd like to see in HandBrake

Now that I am seriously into storing digitally my movie/series disc collections, for playback via TV 4k 64Gb (2nd gen), I have found myself using this program on a daily basis for which I have been using since its early inception days and this is my first posting concerning this great program.

With my movie/series collections I have three locations over two drives. It would be nice to have an accurate knowledge of the source as it is with the final destination. Therefore my future request is:

That the FULL File Path be displayed in the Source: Field, same as it is in the To: Field.

Cheers and thanks for a great program.

What Operating System are you running?

macOS 10.15.7

What version of HandBrake are you running?

1.5.1

Where did you download HandBrake from?

handbreak.fr

The window proxy icon and title bar can be right clicked, and it will show the path.

Yes you are correct, sort of. Your method introduces an unnecessary extra click. At the moment it is not instantly visual. There is ample room to the right of and within the Source: field line to place the full file path. Even if you display it as it does in the To: field line.

There isn't really enough space to show the full source path in a lot of cases. you seem to be have a bit of an uncommon setup where the source path actually matters. Typically it doesn't and this would reduce readability for others.

That is why I suggested using the same method as in the To: field

I did not think I was such an 'edge' case

I use a 27" screen. Have there been complaints about the readability of the To: field as that is in a much smaller area than the Source: field and that is why I suggested this style for the Source: field. I mean the Source: line takes up the entire width of the window and auto expands according to window size, whilst the To: field only takes up a third and is a fixed width. It is also squeezed in between the auto expanding Save As: field and the Browse button.
