Windows 10 x86_64 - handbrake crash encoding certain decrypted DVDs. #505
Please describe the problem or feature request in detail:
I'm running Windows 10 x86_64 - patched to date as of 09/01/2017 on an Intel i7 with 32gb of ram
[ Name] Windows Error Reporting
[ Qualifiers] 0
[ SystemTime] 2017-01-09T16:33:58.746003000Z
What are the steps to reproduce this problem:
install current handbrake version or nightly build, open decrypted American dad season 10 DVD source, select Apple 720 profile, (optional) change tuning to animation click "start" encode.
What version of HandBrake you are running:
pre 1.0 nightly build, 1.0.1 stable and current nightly build at the time of writing (the logs are from the stable 1.0.1)
What operating system and version and you running (e.g. OSX 10.11, Windows 7, Ubuntu 14):
Windows 10 x86_64 patched as of 09/01/2017
Was there any error message or error dialog, if so please detail or provide screenshots:
"handbrake experienced an error"
Please provide the full activity log for the encode or scan attempt. You may attach the log as a file, post a pastebin URL to the log, or place the log inline below:
The log should be written to disk.
it's not - I have tried setting the log to a specific log directory or using the option to save a log of the encode in the same directory as the output file, however there is no encode log (there is if I use a known working source) it looks like it's crashing straight away as soon as "start" is pressed on the encode.
The only other option we have to grab it is to run HandBrakeCLI if your willing to give that a shot?
HandBrakeCLI -i c:\path\to\source\dvd -o c:\path\to\output\test.mp4 --preset="Fast 1080p30" 2>&1 >log.txt
log.txt gets output to the same directory as HandBrakeCLI, or you can set a path.
