Now that is curious, never seen this before and now we see it twice in one week, see #1032
Which operating system are you on, and which Evince version do you have? That other issue was resolved by reinstalling Evince, can you please try that?

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm also using Linux Mint. Installing Evince solved the issue. It seems it is not installed by default on Linux Mint:

$ sudo apt reinstall evince
evince is not currently installed, so it will not be reinstalled
evince is not currently installed, so it will not be reinstalled
No packages will be installed, upgraded, or removed.
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B of archives. After unpacking 0 B will be used.

@studersi Ah, that's useful to know, apparently it's partly but not properly installed (because which evince does return something, as that is what TeXiFy checks) on Linux Mint by default. Thanks for the report back!
